I had a bad experience booking bus ticket with redbus online.
Last year I booked a ticket from Bangalore in a private bus using redbus online service. I paid Rs 350 online and I received the e-ticket by email. After this I called the private bus operator just to be sure that the seat was booked. He said seat was confirmed but I should pay Rs 50 extra before travelling!!. I asked why I should pay on top of the ticket price? He said if I do not pay, then he’ll sell it for Rs 500 to someone else (he was very rude). I spoke to redbus customer care (39412345) but they too insisted that I should pay additional charges to the bus operator.
This is totally unprofessional, nobody will expect that we’ll have to pay extra money to the bus operator after we get a confirmed e-ticket fropm redbus!!. On the day of travel, the bus operator refused to allow me to board the bus in spite of having the printout of the confirmed eticket, he said that the extra charge was only for redbus customers!!! When I checked with another passenger, she said she had paid only Rs 275 for the same journey!!!
